And yet, I fear that I would open this book and find it starting off with differential equations (albeit simple), with the (mathematician) author of the book noting that if you can't understand these then you truly are mentally retarded....
no, in my experience, even the heaviest science books begin with elementart school stuff like "vector operations" and in two chapters they are calculating the radiation from a black hole (how did we get there in two chapters????)
